Job Description

Mon- Friday Job Description:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Observes and respects the personal privacy and confidentiality of information with regard to patients, physicians and co-workers. Addresses patients in a courteous and respectful manner. Assists patients as needed with ADL in dressing or undressing and secures and labels belongings Takes and records vital signs on arrival to the department. Supports departmental activity to provide efficient patient care. Takes direction from the Charge Nurse in order to prioritize workload and focus. Consistently complies with hospital policies and procedures for infection control and hazard communication standard including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment. Identifies and transports patients safely within the hospital Properly performs cubicle and stretcher turnover using established cleaning procedures. Handles all noninfectious and contaminated waste according to policy. Demonstrates ability to handle contaminated and clean scopes as directed Cross trained to process scopes Stocks and/or assists with stocking all departmental cabinets and warming cabinet. Performs errand services to other hospital departments. Empties soiled linen and trash receptacles frequently and as needed. Monitors, cleans, and restocks patient and staff bathrooms as needed. Cleans and defrosts refrigerator according to schedule. Assists with delivering of stat specimens to the lab or pathology. Retrieves blood or blood products from the blood bank. Transports blood products in a timely manner according to policy. Retrieves fecal transplant material as directed noting the number left in supply and expiration dates. Enters requisitions for repair of broken equipment. Demonstrates ability to function during urgent and emergent situations. Assists with answering the phone, transporting of patients, assistance with family members, tidying the waiting room, preparing charts, etc. Cross train to front desk to answer phones. Other duties as assigned. It is understood that this is a summary of key job functions and does not include every detail of the job that may reasonably be required.
Education/Experience Required:
HS Diploma Certified Nursing Assistant or medical assistant certificate required Ability to work in an endoscopy environment. Ability to work at a quick pace with minimal supervision.
