Shift:

Mon – Thu 9am – 5pm (approx 30 hrs/wk) Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing blood sampling and specimen collection with a focus on patient care and safety. This role is essential in ensuring accurate laboratory results and providing excellent patient service within a clinical laboratory environment. Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary blood sampling with precision and care. Ensure the proper collection, labeling, and processing of specimens in accordance with laboratory protocols. Maintain aseptic technique to prevent contamination during blood draws. Monitor and record vital signs as necessary prior to and after specimen collection. Provide exceptional patient service by explaining procedures to patients, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout the process. Collaborate with healthcare professionals in a hospital or clinical setting to support patient care initiatives. Adhere to safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the laboratory environment. Keep accurate records of specimens collected and assist in data entry when required. Qualifications Proven experience in patient care, particularly in phlebotomy or related laboratory techniques. Familiarity with clinical laboratory processes and blood sampling methods. Strong understanding of aseptic techniques and infection control practices. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare staff. Ability to handle stressful situations calmly while maintaining professionalism. Certification in phlebotomy or relevant field is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to obtain certification is essential. High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in medical or laboratory technology is a plus.
