Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing venipunctures, capillary draws, and other specimen collection techniques in a professional and patient-focused manner.
Responsibilities:
Collect blood samples using venipuncture or capillary collection techniques. Ensure proper identification, labeling, and handling of all specimens. Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, including centrifugation and proper storage. Maintain accurate records of patient information and sample collection. Provide excellent patient care, ensuring comfort and safety during the blood draw process. Adhere to all safety and infection control protocols. Work collaboratively with the laboratory team to ensure timely and accurate testing. Maintain phlebotomy supplies and equipment, ensuring they are clean and properly stocked. Handle patient inquiries and provide information about the phlebotomy process.
Qualifications:
Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification. High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare is a plus. Proven experience as a Phlebotomist, preferably in a clinical laboratory or healthcare setting. Excellent venipuncture and specimen handling skills. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently. Compassionate and patient-focused approach to care. Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus.
