Requirements:
3 to 5 years Directly related experience in Medical Setting
Associates Degree in life science
Phlebotomy experience required. 2+ years experience in healthcare setting. EMT certification in lieu of Associates degree accepted.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee, coach and lead daily operations of Phlebotomy team; lead and manage team including hiring, training, scheduling and performance management. Perform full and effective training to employees and ensure competency for new employees.
2. Ensure adequate staffing and efficient, effective workflow for outpatient collection stations to meet clinical and provider demands.
3. Drive quality improvement initiatives, continually looking for ways to improve dept. performance and improve employee morale.
4. Provide technical resources and processes for difficult phlebotomy blood draws.
5. Schedule, ensure timekeeping is appropriate and complete payroll responsibilities and perform leadership best practices (i.e. huddles, 1:1 meetings with staff, check-in and stay interviews, staff meetings, etc.)
6. Communicate and work to resolve issues and flowbusters that develop.
7. Communicate all laboratory issues to the appropriate leaders for assessment and reconciliation.
8. Maintain compliance with accrediting and regulatory agencies, including quality improvement training, safety compliance, and competency. Serve as Laboratory Collection station administrator.
9. Participate in projects including space planning and department implementation of Laboratory Information Systems.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.
