Phlebotomist Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Phlebotomist with over 2 years of recent experience in phlebotomy. The ideal candidate will possess strong straight needle skills and demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and excellent communication abilities. Familiarity with various color tubes and associated tests is advantageous. Responsibilities Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and perform decontamination. Update patient information as needed. Collect and store specimens following established procedures. Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture and specimen collection processes to patients. Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and butterfly needles. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens according to test order. Ensure all test requisitions or computer labels are 100% correct against the script. Package specimens for transport. Store specimen samples at the required temperature and place samples in appropriate collection containers or tubes. Accurately label specimens and follow procedures specific to the protocol necessary for transport to maintain specimen integrity. Essential Skills Minimum of 2 year of experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Strong experience with straight needles. Competency in blood drawing and collection techniques. Data entry skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bilingual proficiency, particularly in Spanish. Knowledge of outpatient phlebotomy procedures. Work Environment The position is based at a Patient Service Center (PSC) in Chelsea, operating as a single-person site. You will handle 15-20 patients per day, primarily through scheduled appointments. The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with every other Saturday from 10:00 AM to 2:00 P
