Phlebotomist with Bilingual Customer Service Focus Jonathan A Herbst MD 388 Westchester Avenue, Port Chester, NY 10573 We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team as an office assistant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for drawing blood from patients for various laboratory tests, ensuring a safe and comfortable experience. The candidate will assist with routine office work. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care. The candidate will be required to be proficient in both English and Spanish, have good telephone skills, and to act as a translator for the doctor. This is a private medical practice for the doctor who grew up in this town, and our patients are treated kindly. There is paid vacation time. Responsibilities Perform venipunctures on patients. Ensure proper and correct labeling of all specimens with patient names and information as required by the lab. Document patient information on charts as required. Provide excellent patient care by addressing patient concerns and answering questions. Collaborate and communicate with other healthcare professionals to ensure an efficient office workflow In a team approach as per office protocols. Translate from Spanish for the doctor as needed. Answer our telephone with both English and Spanish speaking patients as is needed. Perform routine office work as required. Be punctual to work. Be a trustworthy and responsible person. Be kind and compassionate to our patients, and pleasant to the rest of the office staff. Requirements Must be fluent in both Spanish and English. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred; completion of a phlebotomy training program is preferred. Certification as a Phlebotomist is desirable. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff. Attention to detail and ability to follow office protocols accurately. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism. Previous experience in a clinical setting is a plus but not mandatory. Must be trustworthy. Be responsible and punctual.
