Shifts:
- 5 8-hour shifts per week, 2 out of 6 Saturdays per schedule. Shift times are 8AM – 4:30PM and 9:30AM – 6PM. No Sundays or Holidays!

Responsibilities:
- + Ensure daily department activities are completed accurately and on time under supervisor direction.
+ Maintain a safe, professional environment for clients and employees. + Train, mentor, and orient new employees, students, and residents; act as a resource alongside medical technologists. + Ensure compliance with laboratory policies, including quality assurance and infection control. + Perform specimen collection and processing following established policies and procedures. + Accurately collect, label, transport, and prepare specimens, following positive patient ID protocols. + Perform venipuncture, heelstick, and fingerstick procedures. + Instruct patients on non-blood specimen collection and ensure proper collection. + Investigate and document specimen issues, escalating unresolved concerns to supervisors. + Maintain professional, courteous communication with patients, coworkers, and clients. + Handle telephone inquiries, verify billing details, and confirm written orders when needed. + Keep workspace clean and organized; manage inventory, waste disposal, and supply stocking. + Ensure compliance with dress codes and safety regulations, reporting violations as needed. + Complete required documentation, statistical logs, and clerical duties like data entry, test ordering, and filing. + Participate in special projects and department initiatives. + Delegate phlebotomy priorities and non-urgent tasks to staff as needed. + Communicate unusual or problematic incidents to technical staff, supervisors, or pathologists. _
- Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies and behaviors._
- _Performs other duties as assigned.
_ + High School diploma or equivalent + Certification from an accredited Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant program is preferred. + Minimum 2 years experience. + Medical terminology knowledge and laboratory information system experience is preferred. + Must have the ability to establish work priorities and handle several procedures simultaneously. + Must interact with other departments.
