Job Overview:
We are Renewed Health, a center for preventive health, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, medical weight loss, and Botox located in Cumberland, Rhode Island. We are a private pay clinic seeking a part time phlebotomist to join our patient care team. The job will start off as temporary, but there is the possibility of a permanent position. You’ll be a great communicator, committed, motivated, dependable, consistent and enjoy completing tasks in a professional manner. You will have the opportunity to join a business that empowers its patients to take control of their health. You’ll be detail oriented and have at least one year of experience drawing blood in a healthcare context. Medical clinic administrative experience is also a plus.
Job Responsibilities:
Perform phlebotomy. Prepare for collection and process blood or any other laboratory specimens and prepare them for out of office testing. Organize work so that patient specimens are drawn with a minimum of patient waiting time. Perform blood collection duties in a timely manner to ensure availability of test results. Give appropriate instructions to the patients Appropriately label all patient specimens with patient name, chart number, requesting physician’s name, date and time specimen collected, and the name of test required. Delivers and/or processes specimens in a timely manner (i.e. centrifuges, prepares specimens and paperwork for reference laboratory, etc.…) Collects blood samples in appropriate tubes. Accurately charts patient visits and progress Performs computer data entry, filing, telephone communication and other clerical duties as needed. Prepare the treatment room, keeping the room neat and clean. Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies Has adequate knowledge of the terminology of tests ordered in the laboratory Respects the confidentiality of patient records and uses discretion with discussing patient results/matters. Assists other clinical staff in preparing labs and imaging, including requisition forms and supplies and order lab kits. Order medical inventory when supplies are low Answer patient inquiries and educate May be asked to deliver specimens to a specified drop off area. Attend team meetings Prepare daily patient workflow timely and accurately. Flexible, adapts to change positively. Presents a consistent willingness to learn new skills and positive demeanor with both patients and co-workers. Exceptional attendance, timeliness and professionalism. Positivity with both patients and co-workers, resilience in times of change. Attire to be scrubs or similar. Personal appearance to be clean and professional. Performs work within the established laboratory safety and infection control policies and procedures, practices, infection control, and chemical hazard procedures for the protection of self, patients, and clinic personnel.
Preferred Experience:
Lab Experience Administrative assistant in a medical setting
Required Experience:
Phlebotomy Training (diploma or certificate) 1 year phlebotomy clinical experience Experience working with
EMR CPR/BLS
(AHA) required upon hire and maintain current Valid driver’s license with a good driving record, maintained auto insurance, and a reliable car.
