Summary:

The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, trouble shooting, training and making work flow recommendations.

Position Responsibilities:

Perform blood draws, label and centrifuge specimens, and update patient information. Collect and store specimens per established procedures. Clearly explain venipuncture and specimen collection procedures to patients. Demonstrate proficiency with straight and butterfly needles. Match lab requisition forms to specimen tubes. Label, split, freeze, and package specimens as required. Ensure accuracy by checking requisitions against scripts. Store specimens at appropriate temperatures and maintain integrity during transport. Comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department training. Answer calls and provide lab results as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience in Laboratory experience/hospital. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. High School Diploma/GED. Pediatrics and geriatrics experience needed 2 years of experience in phlebotomy is required HC01
