Individuals at this level have successfully achieved the goals and objectives of orientation. They are learning and adjusting to their full professional role. Much energy and attention is focused on task and skill acquisition, and on recognizing important situational elements which can only be learned through experience. Phlebotomy processes and other related activities must be guided and/or supervised by other phlebotomists who have achieved a competent level of practice. Have completed a certified phlebotomy program which includes at least one phlebotomy clinical rotation or Enrolled in a Medical Laboratory Technician, Medical Technology, or Clinical Laboratory Science Program and have completed the phlebotomy clinical rotation.
