Job Description
Medical Laboratory Technician with Phlebotomy Skills Faculty Internal Medicine, PLLC 11440 Parkside Drive, Knoxville, TN 37934 Busy Internal Medicine Office is seeking a Full Time laboratory assistant. This position will be an integral part of our laboratory. Primary Duties include but not limited to: Cooperate with co-workers and management to meet the needs of the practice and its patients. Organizes work by matching computer orders with specimen labeling; sorting specimens, checking labeling; logging specimens and arranging reports for delivery. Maintains quality results by running standards and controls, verifying equipment function through routine equipment maintenance and advanced trouble shooting; calibrating equipment utilizing approved testing procedures; monitoring quality control measures and protocols.. Identifies and communicates abnormal patient conditions by alerting the patient, provider or nurse; reporting mandated information to the public health department or other designated officials. Provides test results (chemistry, hematology, immunology) for patient diagnosis and treatment by operating appropriate equipment. Abide by all OSHA and HIPAA policies, procedures and regulations. Adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures; federal, state and local requirements and CLIA standards. Phlebotomy experience a plus.
Job Qualifications:
Medical laboratory assistant with at least one year experience required. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
