Facility in North Branford, Connecticut Job DetailsFusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Physical Therapist fora 13-week travel assignment in North Branford, Connecticut. Required Qualifications:
Valid Physical Therapy license incompliance with state regulations Current BLS certification(AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctorate degree in physicaltherapy Physical Therapy experience, but New Grads are welcome toapply Other certifications or licenses may be required for thisposition
Summary:
The Physical Therapist evaluates, diagnoses, andtreats patients with physical impairments to improve mobility,reduce pain, and enhance quality of life. Working in settings suchas hospitals, clinics, and rehabilitation centers, they createpersonalized, evidence-based treatment plans using exercise andmanual therapy to help patients recover and become independent.
This role requires strong clinical skills, effective communication,critical thinking, and a commitment to high-quality, safe patientcare.
Essential Work Functions:
Evaluate patients’ physicalconditions using standardized tests, clinical examinations, andpatient history to identify functional limitations and treatmentneed Develop personalized rehabilitation programs based onassessment findings and patient goals Implement physical therapytreatment plans using various techniques to improve patientmobility and reduce pain Operate specialized physical therapyequipment and modalities safely and effectively, ensuring propermaintenance and calibration of devices Assess patient progress,adjust treatment plans as necessary, and accurately documentevaluations, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record Workclosely with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, and otherhealthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care and optimizetreatment outcomes Educate patients and caregivers on home exerciseprograms, proper body mechanics, injury prevention strategies, andself-management techniques to promote long-term functional recoveryMaintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infectioncontrol protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standardswhile addressing patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessionsEngage in quality assurance initiatives and professionaldevelopment activities to remain current with best practices inphysical therapy Collaborate in discharge planning to ensure smoothtransitions and continued patient progress in community orhome-based settings Perform other duties as assigned within scopeof practice
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, serviceexcellence, and good interpersonal communication skills The abilityto read, write, and communicate in the English language Ability toread/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions,and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities
- Must be able toremain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment(50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal Skills
- Must beable to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professionaland ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills
- Must have the ability to grasp, performfine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment Mental Requirements
- Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general publicand customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be ableto work under close supervision occasionally, as well as workingwithout assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contendwith irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuousconcentration to detail Sensory
