FUNCTION

Physical TherapistAssistant PTA works with a physical therapist (PT) to carry out anindividualized program of physical therapy including assessment,treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communicationto maximize a patient’s progress toward achieving functional goals.

QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative ofthe knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

MinimumQualifications:

• Knowledge and skills to care for the physical anddevelopmental needs of the population age groups that will bereceiving services.
• Ability to remain calm in emergency or crisissituations.
• Graduate of an American Physical Therapy Association(APTA) approved physical therapy program.
• At least one year ofexperience as a physical therapy aide.
• Current license from thestate Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
