Reporting to the Supervisor of the Pediatric Service Line ordesignee, the Pediatric Physical Therapist is responsible for allpatient care assessments, treatments and related duties, providingcomprehensive care appropriate to the age of the patients served inaccordance with the philosophy and objectives of the department.

The Pediatric Physical Therapist demonstrates clinical expertise inthe area of pediatric disorders through clinical experience,special certifications and continuing education. The clinicalpractice position requires an understanding of pediatric physicaltherapy clinical care, research principles, and treatmenttechniques. The Physical Therapist’s responsibilities includeassessment, planning, treatment, and ongoing evaluation of theprovision of care for a diverse pediatric patient population. ThePhysical Therapist provides patient and family education andsupport. The scope of pediatric physical therapy services forpatients and families includes all phases of care includingprevention, assessment, rehabilitation, and education/caregivertraining. The Physical Therapist works effectively on amultidisciplinary team. Minimum Qualifications Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited Physical Therapyprogram required. Experience
  • 3-4 years’ experience in outpatientor school-based pediatrics required. Licensure and/or Certification
  • BLS required within 4 months from hire.
  • Current license topractice physical therapy in Massachusetts required. Skills
  • Clinical expertise for the age and type of patients seen.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Must execute sound judgment all duties.
  • Courteous and professional manner when dealing with people inperson and on the phone.
  • Ability to prioritize workload andrespond to urgent needs.
  • Committed to Service Excellence andcustomer satisfaction.
  • Must be able to read, write, andcommunicate in English.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Ability tomaintain confidential information.
