Hours Location:
Malden, MA The PhysicalTherapist is a member of the health care team who providescomprehensive rehabilitation services to individuals and familiesin the community. Essential Functions
- Performs a comprehensiveassessment including physiological, psychological and environmentalfactors. Utilizes appropriate techniques and materials.
- Performsclinical procedures safely.
- Utilizes appropriate clinicaljudgment in providing care.
- Complies with OSHA regulations andinfection control standards.
- Encourages and promotespatient/family independence.
- Develops, evaluates, and revisespatient care goals in conjunction with the patient and family.
- Acts as a patient advocate.
- Seeks assistance when establishing aplan of care when necessary.
- Coordinates goal directed, costeffective care for primary patients and demonstrates appropriateuse of community resources to deliver comprehensive individualizedcare.
- Communicates with MD, family and interdisciplinary careproviders to clarify care and increase awareness of significantchanges in condition in a timely manner.
- Discharges patients whengoals are met.
- Participates in formal and informal caseconferences.
- Provides adequate education and training of patientsand families. Assists with training of new staff. Takes initiativein self-growth and professional development.
- Incorporatesteaching and learning principals into plan of care.
- Educates andcounsels patient/family to participate in health care decisions.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an approved school of physicaltherapy.
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist in Massachusetts andNew Hampshire.
- At least one year’s experience as a registeredtherapist in a rehabilitation or acute care setting. What We Offer
