GeneralSummary:
We are seeking a self-motivated Physical Therapist who isresponsible for providing comprehensive, evidence-based care in ahospital-based outpatient clinic to join our team. The staffphysical therapist evaluates, develops and implements specifictreatment programs for individual patients according to theprinciples and practices of physical therapy. The position involvesregular contact with patients and members of their families,referring physicians, nurses, social workers, and all allied healthand support personnel within TMC. The staff member will act as aliaison with other disciplines for problem-solving issues thatarise related to clinical therapy services.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree is required, Masters or Doctorate preferredCurrent Massachusetts Physical Therapy License required 1-2 yearsof clinical experience is preferred, but not required Outpatientorthopaedic experience is preferred. APTA membership isrecommended.
Responsibilities include:
Provides comprehensiveevaluation and assessment of patient’s physical status andfunctional mobility. Sets realistic short- and long-term goals andplan of care related to patient’s physical therapy needs within themusculoskeletal, neuromuscular, cardiopulmonary, and integumentarysystems. Demonstrates the ability to carry out the appropriatetreatment plan. Documentation and billing is accurate andreflective of services provided in accordance with departmentalguidelines. Perform job as described by Outpatient Physical TherapyCompetencies Supervises and mentors students, PTAs and supportstaff.
Additional Requirements include:
Must demonstrateinterpersonal skills including communication, flexibility, timemanagement, independence, teamwork, and maturity to operateeffectively within a multi-disciplinary setting. Must be willingand able to work effectively with a wide variety of patients withacute and long term disability. Must be capable of treatingindependently in a variety of settings. Lifts, positions, pushesand/or transfers patients, supplies and equipment. Must be capableof providing occupational therapy intervention throughout the lifespan.
