Job Description

Job Description Summary:

At MaineGeneral Health, we’re dedicated to helping our youngest patients build strong foundations for lifelong development. We’re looking for a warm, skilled, and flexible Physical Therapist to join our pediatric team on a per diem basis, supporting children ages 0-5 with a variety of developmental and medical needs — including those on the autism spectrum and children with complex health conditions. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families in our community. You’ll work alongside a supportive, collaborative team that values empathy, creativity, and partnership — both with each other and with the families we serve.

Job Description:
What You’ll Do:

Conduct evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans that support each child’s growth and mobility goals. Provide engaging, developmental activities based on the children where they are. Partner with families and caregivers, offering education and tools to carry therapy into daily routines. Collaborate with early intervention programs and care teams across disciplines. Offer input on discharge planning, adaptive equipment, and long-term strategies.

What We Offer:

Flexible per diem schedule — perfect for those looking to contribute on a part-time or variable basis. A welcoming, collaborative team that values shared problem-solving, mutual respect, and humor. Ongoing opportunities to grow your pediatric expertise. A role where your impact is both immediate and lasting.

What You Bring:

Current Maine State Physical Therapy license (or eligibility). BLS certification preferred. Strong communication and relationship-building skills. A passion for working with children and families — and a thoughtful, strengths-based approach to care. Experience with young children and/or neurodevelopmental care is a plus, but not required. If you’re looking for a role where your work matters deeply — and where you’ll be part of a team that supports one another and celebrates small victories every day — we’d love to connect.
