$60,000.00 – $64,000.00 per year Tiegerman School is a special education program servicing children with autism spectrum disorders from preschool through high school. At Tiegerman, our mission is to identify children with language and autism spectrum disorders early to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories and messages. Language is a symbol system; it provides the means to reach out to the world. Tiegerman is a 12 month program Tiegerman is looking for a Physical Therapist for our Woodside (QUEENS) program! This position would be 4 days per week with the possibility to become 5 days. Responsibilities • Maintain and review student records Evaluate student progress and prepare reports that display their progress Assess students’ physical abilities Plan, organize and conduct PT sessions with students Restore, maintain, and promote quality of life as it relates to movement and health Meet with parents and teachers to communicate information pertaining to the students’ IEP. Prevent symptoms and the progression of symptoms of physical dysfunction and disability Meet students’ goals and needs Recommend changes in environment that could assist students with their needs and capabilities Make recommendations and referrals as needed Research resources and treatment methods for the students Maintain professional training by attending workshops All other duties as assigned
