- What you will do in this role: Assumes responsibility and accountability for the care of thosepatients being treated by Physical Therapist Assistants and Therapytechs.
May be assigned to orient staff and students and assume theduties and responsibilities of the supervisor in the absence ofthat individual Assesses patients’ needs; identifies and initiates appropriatephysical therapy interventions; works cooperatively with otherpatient team personnel in maintaining standards for professionalphysical therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork Observes and evaluates treatment affect, accomplishment of shortand long term goals. Recommends change to physician, if needed Performs an appropriate assessment on each patient and performsreassessments, as per policy. Performs accurate and timely QIscoring. The population is adult and geriatric patients requiringan adult medical rehabilitation program and services Able to assess patient pain interfering with optimal level offunction of participation in rehabilitation; makes appropriateinterventions to reduce pain; makes appropriate physician contactfor intervention Formulates and updates patient specific plan of care for physicaltherapy Other duties as assigned Qualifications Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in the state where thehospital is located Inpatient rehab experience preferred Current BLS/CPR Card Community Rehabilitation Hospital South strives to maximize thehealth, function, and quality of life of those we serve throughcomprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs.
