Overview:

Under the general supervision ofdepartment management and the direct supervision of PhysicalTherapists, will provide treatment to include therapeuticmodalities and therapeutic interventions.

Will also assist in:

medical records, upkeep of department environment, safety andequipment, and provides any support needed for improved departmentfunctioning. Promotes advisory service to other interdisciplinaryteam member to promote quality patient care. Functions under thedirect supervision of the Assistant Director. Performs relatedduties as assigned. Performs duties and responsibilities in amanner consistent with the mission, values, and Mercy ServiceStandards.

Qualifications:

Education:

Associate’s degree fromaccredited program. (

Exception:

grandfathered license from state ofpractice.)•

Licensure:

State of practice Physical TherapistAssistant license.•

Certifications:

Must have a current AmericanHeart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a coursewithin their probation period.•

Other:

Skills, Knowledge, andAbilities:

Must have general knowledge of treatment principles fora diverse number and types of diagnoses.•

Working Conditions,Mental and Physical Requirements:

Patient care may include heavylifting and extensive bending and standing.•

Equipment Used:

Mayoccasionally work with office equipment, i.e., copy machines,telephones, computer. Must demonstrate competency in equipment usedfor the delivery of modalities. Physical demands are attached pluspush at 40 lbs., pull 60 lbs., and grip up to 50 lbs., pinch up to15 lbs., kneel, crouch, and crawl minimally.
