Position Summary:
The PTA – Physical Therapy Assistant providesdirect rehab care in physical therapy to patients upon physicianreferral under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist(PT) in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and LifeCare standards.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Requirements:
- Graduate of an accredited program in physical therapy (ASPT)
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State. Must maintain anactive license in good standing throughout employment.
- One (1)year experience in post acute care or related setting preferred
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation.
CPRcertification must remain current during employment.
Specific JobRequirements:
- Participates in community health matters/projects asappropriate
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc.,to adequately plan for patient needs
- Demonstrate good bodymechanics at all times
- Make independent decisions whencircumstances warrant such action
- Knowledgeable of practices andprocedures as well as the laws, regulations, and guidelinesgoverning functions in the post acute care facility
- Implement andinterpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and proceduresof the department
- Perform proficiently in all competency areasincluding but not limited to: patient rights, and safety andsanitation
- Maintains professional working relationships with allassociates, vendors, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality of allproprietary and/or confidential information
- Understand and followcompany policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to Life CaresCode of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and otherappropriate compliance training
Essential Functions:
- Followphysical therapy treatment plans for patients under direction ofthe supervising PT
- Chart appropriately and timely
- Utilize therapysoftware appropriately and accurately
- Exhibit excellent customerservice and a positive attitude towards patients
- Assist in theevacuation of patients
- Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
- Concentrate and use reasoning skills and good judgment
- Communicateand function productively on an interdisciplinary team
