Front Desk Chiropractic Assistant COR Medical Centers 2333 West Hillsborough Avenue, Tampa, FL 33603 Our Tampa Office is currently searching for a phenomenal Chiropractic Assistant/Front Desk to join our medical team. You will be responsible for interacting with patients through greeting, scheduling, processing payments, and maintaining work area.
Front Desk Responsibilities:
- Greets physical therapy clients, verify appointments, and directs them to the waiting area
- Handles incoming calls, transfers calls, takes messages, retrieve messages from answering service and return calls
- Schedule/reschedule appointments for physical therapy patients.
- Verify appointments with patients 1-2 days in advance of scheduled appointment
- Pull, prepare and update patient charts and files
- Obtain authorizations/referrals for patients and collect co-payments
- Ensure proper credits/payments are maintained on patient accounts
- Maintain smooth channel of communication between patient, physical therapist, and other clinical staff
- Prepare statistical reports for legal department
- Straightens and cleans reception area
- Maintain and make certain that all clinic forms are replenished in a timely manner
- Maintain photocopier to ensure proper operation and adequate paper supply
- Update and maintain all company operating platforms
- End of day reports and statistics updated on a timely manner Chiropractic assistants perform a variety of tasks to help chiropractors provide patient care.
These duties include:
Patient care : Assisting with patient preparation and treatment, and explaining procedures to patients
Scheduling :
Scheduling and confirming appointments, and sending appointment reminders Patient records : Maintaining patient records and ensuring confidentiality
Billing :
Performing billing and insurance processing, and taking payments
Communication :
Answering phones and responding to patient inquiries
Supplies :
Managing inventory of clinical and office supplies, and reordering supplies
Cleaning :
Ensuring clinic areas are clean and organized, and preparing exam rooms
Education :
Educating patients about exercises and therapies, and providing follow-up care information Administrative tasks : Assisting with filing and administrative tasks Vital signs : Taking vital signs, such as heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and temperature
Equipment :
Operating specialized equipment like decompression machines or ultrasound devices, and ensuring equipment is properly sterilized and maintained Chiropractic assistants are often the first point of contact for patients, so they need to be welcoming and provide excellent customer service
Front Desk Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Have two to three years’ experience working with people, preferably in an office or medical office environment. Experience with chiropractic medicine preferred. At COR Medical Centers, you will be part of a team that employs over 15 medical providers at 11 statewide locations and GROWING!
