JOB SUMMARY

Performs x-rays per clinician’s orders and processes films. May perform C-arm procedures as per technician training. Maintains and documents per regulation. Assists with therapies and other office or clerical duties as necessary

Basic Radiologic Technician Certification required

Registration :

Current registration required

Experience:

Two years radiology technician experience preferred

Completes duties according to the requirements of each approved procedure needing radiological support. ▫ Assembles necessary supplies and positioning aids for scheduled procedure according to clinician order. ▫ Tests and monitors equipment for proper working condition. ▫ Follows manufacturer’s specifications and OSHA guidelines when performing x-ray procedures. ▫ Utilizes appropriate shielding prior to performing x-ray. ▫ Follows principles of aseptic technique in performing duties during the procedure. Performs required maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment by adhering to cleaning, care, storage, and calibration procedures as directed. ▫ Handles equipment and instruments correctly to provide availability and safety. ▫ Maintains adequate supplies to provide immediate availability during the procedure. ▫ Maintains a clean and organized work area. Responds in a timely manner to meet the needs of the patient and the physician. ▫ Documents and completes required forms according to organization’s policy. ▫ Communicates information about the patient’s status to others responsible for patient care. ▫ Accurately comprehends orders and directions. ▫ Abides by the organization’s HIPAA policies and procedures ▫ Complies with organization’s Infection Control policies and procedures
