_Provides quality rehabilitation care to residents under thedirect supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist as outlined inthe plan of care and in accordance with all laws, regulations andfacility guidelines. _
- Responsibilities
- Implement selectedcomponents of care and interventions in a technically competentmanner
- Instruct and counsel patients effectively in exercises
- Identify patients needs and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathyto individual differences
- Recommend options, courses of action ormodifications in selected treatments ensuring patients progress,safety and comfort
- Apply the latest research related to restoringfunction, reducing symptoms frequency, and preventing injury
- Complete documentation to support the delivery of physical therapyservices
- Perform selected data collection and obtain accurateinformation
- Measure performance and report on patients medicalrecord
- Participate in patient status judgments
- Adhere to ethicaland legal standards
- Ensure continued competence and updated fieldknowledge
- Skills
- Proven working experience as physical therapistassistant
- Excellent knowledge of physiology best practices andstandards
- Hands on experience with therapeutic exercises,functional training and physical modalities
- Ability to communicateand instruct effectively
- Health care administration anddocumentation skills
- Licence to practice or relevantcertification
- Must be able to lift 40 lbs floor to waist; lift 10lbs waist to shoulder; lift and carry 40 lbs; and push/ pull 40lbs.
- Experience
- Licence to practice or relevant certification;One year experience in long-term care environmental preferred.
