Practices as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) within the scope of care defined in the Georgia Physical Therapy Act. Under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, the PTA will be responsible for carrying out a comprehensive program of physical therapy for patients/residents; for providing individual/group treatments, for participating in patient and interdisciplinary conferences; for assisting other staff in the efficient operation of the Rehab Therapy Department; for maintaining timely and effective communication with the Physical Therapist; for accurate documentation in the medical record; assuring a continuum of care within a hospital, ambulatory clinic, long term care facility and /or community based environment. Maintains confidentiality in addressing matters pertaining to residents, care and services and human resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

Gradaute of a Physical Therapy Assistant program that is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Education of the American Physical Therapy Association required.
Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Georgia required
