$55.6K – $68.8K a year 15 hours ago Qualifications Mid-level Associate’s degree Full Job Description Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, provides physical therapy treatment as established by the Physical Therapist to meet specific measurable goals. Reports to Clinical Coordinator. Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards. Assists the Physical Therapist during patient testing, evaluations and procedures. Carries out a treatment program for assigned patients, as determined by the evaluation performed by the Physical Therapist. Designs and fits adaptive devices such as orthotics, mobility aids and tools based on patient disability and rehabilitation needs. Teaches patients/family the skills and techniques required for participation in Physical Therapy, adapting the instruction and techniques to meet the comprehension level of the patients/family. Reports any changes in a patient’s condition to the supervising Physical Therapist and assists in updating treatment plans. Maintains adequate records within the medical record regarding patient responses to treatment techniques. Supervises Rehabilitation Technicians and Aides appropriately. Maintains communication with physicians, via verbal and written reports, regarding patient treatment. Supervises Rehabilitation Technicians and Aides appropriately. Conducts or participates in Inservice training as needed for other hospital personnel. Participates in educational programs and Inservice meetings. Attends meetings as required. Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
Education:
Associate’s degree and graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program required.
Experience:
Prior training or experience in related environment is preferred.
Special Skills:
Employee must demonstrate ability to recognize patients’ individual needs based on medical conditions, age (infants, pediatrics, adolescents, young adults, middle-aged and geriatric), limitations and planned procedures.
License/Cert:
Must be certified as a PTA. Mississippi state licensure as required.
