And everyone, in their own unique way, plays an important part, every day. Under supervision of Physical Therapist assists in all activities involved in rehab of patients with physical dysfunction. Performs treatments to alleviate physical dysfunction using manual, functional and physical agent modality techniques. Participates in departmental activities to assure smooth operations and facilitate program enhancement. I.

Major Responsibilities:

1. Provides group and individual treatment to restore and/or maximize neuromuscular, musculoskeletal and activity of daily living functions. Educates patient in exercise, compensatory strategies and life management skills to promote wellness and prevent health decompensation. Addresses age specific needs for populations treated including infants and children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics and frail elderly. 2. Educates patient, family and other caregivers in therapy program and goals. Participates in patient care meetings, collaborates with team members, assists discharge planning. 3. Assesses effect of treatment rendered and communicates recommendation for program changes to supervising therapist. 4. Documents care provided in medical record and completes therapy billing. 5. Completes department statistics. Assists in maintenance of orderly, safe and efficient working environment. Assists with inventory and purchasing as assigned. 6. Delegates appropriate tasks to rehabilitation aides, students and volunteers, overseeing quality of care and supervising performance. Provides student supervision according to professional practice standards.

Demonstrates use of Quality Improvement in daily operations. 4. Complies with all health and safety regulations and requirements. 5. Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:

1. Associates degree in Physical Therapy from accredited PTA school. 2. Current license to practice Physical Therapy in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. 3. Successful completion of Board Examination of PTA. Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements. Department-specific competencies and their measurements will be developed and maintained in the individual departments. The competencies will be maintained and attached to the departmental job description. Responsible managers will review competencies with position incumbents. III.

Work is considered medium. Position requires work indoors in a patient care environment. North Pavillion is the site location.
