Facility in Lancaster, PA Job Details FusionMedical Staffing is seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant(PTA) for a 13 week travel assignment in Lancaster, PA. Required Qualifications:

Valid Physical Therapy Assistantlicense in compliance with state regulations Current BLScertification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications:

Graduate of anaccredited program in physical therapy Physical Therapy Assistantexperience, but New Grads are welcome to apply Other certificationsor licenses may be required for this position

Summary:

The PhysicalTherapy Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a PhysicalTherapist to help implement treatment plans that improve patients’mobility, reduce pain, and enhance functional independence. PTAsprovide hands-on assistance with therapeutic exercises, modalities,and activities of daily living across various clinical settings.

They document patient progress, educate patients on home exerciseprograms, and collaborate with the healthcare team to supportoptimal recovery and overall quality of life.

Essential WorkFunctions:

Set up therapy equipment and treatment areas, ensuringall devices and supplies are calibrated, clean, and ready forpatient sessions Guide patients through prescribed exercises andactivities to improve mobility, strength, and balance, whileproviding hands-on assistance with movements and transfers asneeded Observe patient performance during therapy sessions, notechanges in functional abilities, and report progress or concerns tothe supervising Physical Therapist Accurately record patienttreatment details, progress, and any adjustments made duringtherapy sessions in the medical record Instruct patients and theircaregivers on home exercise programs, proper use of assistivedevices, and techniques for safe mobility and injury preventionWork in conjunction with physical therapists, occupationaltherapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate acomprehensive approach to patient care Maintain a safe treatmentenvironment by adhering to infection control protocols, safetyguidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients’comfort needs during therapy sessions Engage in quality assuranceinitiatives and professional development activities to remaincurrent with best practices in physical therapy Collaborate indischarge planning to ensure smooth transitions and continuedpatient progress in community or home-based settings Performs otherduties as assigned within scope of practice

Required EssentialSkills:

Critical thinking, service excellence and goodinterpersonal communication skills The ability to read, write, &communicate in the English language is required Ability toread/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions,and proficiency in PC skills Physical Abilities

  • Remain in astationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs),pushing, pulling, bending Interpersonal Skills
  • To workeffectively with a variety of personnel (professional andancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills
  • Ability to grasp, fine manipulation,pushing/pulling and able to move about when assisting withprocedures and/or using department equipment. Mental Requirements
  • Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public,customers, and meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able towork under close supervision occasionally as well as workingwithout assistance from other personnel.
