Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) with pediatric and inpatient rehabilitation experience to provide direct patient interventions under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist. This role will support inpatient therapy services, ensuring high-quality care and maintaining a safe, organized therapy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Review medical records to understand patient diagnoses, precautions, goals, and treatment plans. Seek clarification as needed. Provide direct interventions, including gait training, exercises, and modalities, in individual and group therapy sessions. Treat patients in various hospital settings, including the ambulatory network. Evaluate patient responses to interventions and document progress. Educate patients and caregivers on home programs, including gait training and transfer techniques. Communicate patient progress and concerns with the supervising physical therapist. Coordinate patient care tasks, including communication with providers and tracking medical equipment. Maintain professional development through mentorship, departmental competencies, and continued education. Attend relevant in-services and hospital training sessions.
Qualifications:
Pennsylvania State license as a Physical Therapy Assistant. Associate Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program. CPR Certification Pediatric experience required.
