Description:

Collaborate with the Physical Therapist and multi-disciplinary team to implement treatment plans. Monitor patient progress and operate therapeutic equipment safely. Document treatments, recording patient status, responses, changes, and educational activities. Conduct physical and psychological assessments of clients and follow prescribed treatment plans. Assess client home environments and recommend necessary modifications. Provide guidance on assistive devices and apply therapy according to patient diagnosis and procedures. Develop physical rehabilitation programs to help clients regain skills and mobility. Educate caregivers and family members on patient care and recovery. Maintain knowledge of certification requirements and compliance with federal, state, and local standards.

Job Requirements:

Education/Experience Required:

Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program. Valid Physical Therapist Assistant license in Rhode Island. Interest in working with individuals of all abilities, including the intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) population. Valid driver’s license and auto insurance. Current (or willingness to obtain) BLS and/or CPR certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
