Job Description The Administrative Assistant for the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) Program supports the Program Director and faculty with comprehensive administrative, operational, and project-based responsibilities. This role ensures the smooth execution of day-to-day functions, strategic initiatives, budgeting, purchasing, accreditation documentation, and data management. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent judgment, organizational and communication skills, and a proactive, solution-oriented mindset. Proficiency with technology and the ability to adopt and implement new software tools is essential.
Required Qualifications Bachelors degree (preferred in Communications, Organizational Management, Finance, Business, or a related field). 1-2 years of office experience (experience in a higher education setting preferred). Accounting or financial management experience preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Familiarity with Adobe Suite and Adobe Sign. Competency in using teleconferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams, etc.). Ability to manage and develop Excel-based dashboards and workflow tools. Experience with or willingness to learn workflow automation, data visualization, or low-code platforms (e.g., Tableau)
Preferred Qualifications

  • one-two years office experience (experience in higher education setting preferred);
  • accounting/financial experience preferred;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (specifically, Outlook, SharePoint, MS Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint);
  • familiar with teleconferencing platforms

    Job Duty
    Job Duty work with LMU Accounts Payable, Registrar, Receiving, Administration, Finance, Advancement, Physical Plant and Properties, Human Resources and Information Technology;
    Job Duty monitor facilities and operations related to the Program;
    Job Duty support the accreditation process, application, and compliance for the DPT program;
    Job Duty support the recruitment and application process for faculty/staff;
    Job Duty manage special projects as directed by the Program Director;
    Job Duty gather and update program related policies and procedures and monitor compliance;
    Job Duty assist with the coordination of the annual PT faculty retreat;
    Job Duty support special student and faculty events;
    Job Duty provide support in the strategic planning process and contribute to the development of new programmatic strategic initiatives;
    Job Duty support in strategic analysis and long term program planning;
    Job Duty participate on University staff committees;
    Job Duty manage and assist in the completion of required institutional and program accreditation reports;
    Job Duty promote the mission of the Program and University to all faculty, staff, students and to the community at large;
    Job Duty promote effective working relationships among faculty, staff and students; and
    Job Duty perform other duties as assigned.
