Job Description

Sarasota Memorial First Physicians Group is seeking a Certified Physician Assistant for a busy Orthopedic Trauma group that provides expert surgical and non-surgical care for patients with traumatic extremity and pelvis injuries. Outside of the work performed for the general Trauma Program, the Orthopedic Trauma Service is also directly available for consultation by the Emergency Department, Primary Care Physicians, and by other Orthopedic Surgeons. A successful candidate will be a team-player, collegial and collaborative, energetic, flexible, and have a desire for continued learning. Responsibilities:

Consults Hospital rounds one hospital only! Clinic – basic post-op care Surgical assist Call 1:4 with weekend rounding

Requirements:

Current NCCPA or ANCC certification required and must also have an active license by the State of Florida by the time of hire. Board Certified Physician Assistant, Board Certified Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner who has active, relevant and routine experience in 2 of the last 4 years (defined as at least 500 acute care inpatient encounters over two years). Orthopedic Training 2 years experience in Orthopedics preferred Trauma experience preferred but not required BLS required, ACLS certification preferred Ability to work independently Attention to detail Report to Attending Physician Must be flexible with scheduling
