Description:
The Orthopedic Medical Assistant plays a vital role in our clinic, assisting providers and ensuring smooth patient care. This role encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities, including: Guiding patients : You will escort patients to exam rooms and assist them with dressing/undressing as needed, ensuring comfort and privacy. Gathering information : You will review patient registration details in the electronic medical record (EMR), collect necessary forms, and accurately input data into the intake sections of the EMR. Coordinating care : You will prepare physician’s surgical orders, schedule lab tests and diagnostic procedures, obtain test results, and coordinate medical clearance for surgeries if applicable. Communication and follow-up : You will handle patient call-backs regarding messages, prescriptions, and referrals. Additionally, you will review and respond to items in both personal and doctor-specific queues. DME knowledge : In the absence of the DME representative, you will demonstrate a basic understanding of proper fitting and usage instructions for soft goods, bracing, and other DME products dispensed at the clinic. Overall, you will play a key role in creating a positive and efficient patient experience while supporting our providers in delivering high-quality orthopedic care.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent Gradate from an accredited Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Medical Assistants or Certified Ortho Tech program or equivalent experience One year of medial office experience preferred Knowledge of electronic medical records system, Epic preferred Ability to keep a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment Ability to work as part of a team Must be able to work independently Must be detailed oriented Strong organizational and time management skills Excellent verbal and written communication skill Strong sense of discretion and professionalism
