The Ayer Neuroscience Institute at HartfordHealthCare has a new opportunity available for a Per DiemNeurosurgery Physician Assistant/APRN to join our Advanced Practiceteam at Hartford Hospital located in Hartford, CT. Practiceautonomously, but collaboratively, with a team of attendingneurosurgeons and APPs providing advanced specialized care toneurosurgical patients including open spine, MIS spine anddeformity, intracranial cases, neurovascular, peripheral nerve,neurotrauma, and neuro-interventional radiological cases. Enjoy arobust onboarding experience with an established, supportiveprocess with frequent opportunities for training and educationmodalities at HHC’s Center for Education, Simulation and Innovation(CESI). This role will assist in providing coverage on theinpatient side of neurosurgery including weekdays (day & nightshifts), weekends (day & night shifts), and/or holidays tocontribute to maintaining 24/7 service coverage. Job details :

• Managing neurosurgical brain and spine patients on the floor,stepdown, and ICU settings.
• Intake H&Ps, progress notes,consultations, pre- and post-operative care, and discharges.
• Providing neurosurgical consultations in the hospital and in theemergency department.
• Performing bedside procedures: externalventricular drains, ICP monitors, lumbar drains, shunt taps.
• First assisting the attending neurosurgeon in the operating room inbrain and spine surgeries.
• Per diem coverage of weekdays,weeknights, weekend days, weekend nights, and holidays based onneurosurgery service line coverage needs.

Qualifications Job requirements: A minimum of 1 year of experiencein a surgical subspeciality is strongly preferred. BE/BC NCCPAcertified and CT licensed Physician Assistant or APRN with FirstAssist.
