Mon-Fri Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking afull-time Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (APRN) to joinour Outpatient Interventional Pain / Physical Medicine & Rehaboffice located in Torrington, CT. The Physician Assistant or NursePractitioner APRN will provide acute and chronic pain specialtycare with the cognizance or supervision of a physician. Theseinclude musculoskeletal, orthopedic, and spine diagnoses and theirappropriate management. Interventional Pain/PM&R NursePractitioner (APRN) or

Physician Assistant Responsibilities:

Provide immediate evaluation and management of emergent problems asthey occur. Collect and record, in proper format, medical andsocial historical data appropriate to the patient’s condition.

Perform an orthopedic/spine physical examination and/or a painfocused examination. Outpatient clinic duties to include seeingpostoperative patients, follow up appointments, and new patientreferrals. Responsible for examination of patients and formulationof differential diagnostic plans. Define and order requireddiagnostic testing including imaging. Interpret exam findings andtest results, and implementation of treatment plans. Direct thecare provided by nurses and technicians in the clinic. Recognizemore complicated cases, initiate treatment (if appropriate), andrefer to a higher level of medical expertise for diagnosis and/ortreatment. Plan and initiate proper treatment within definedprivileges and the scope of practice of the facility. Communicateto other health personnel either orally or in writing the findings,diagnosis, and planned treatment regimen as well as answer anyquestions from the team and/or patients. Stabilize and manage apatient in a medical or surgical emergency and/or transfer tophysician care. Maintain inpatient and outpatient medical records.

Perform clinic injections and other invasive procedures as directedby the supervising physician. Serve as a subspecialist consultantto other departments. Work where every moment matters. Qualifications

• Licensed as Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or PhysicianAssistant.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the AmericanHeart Association (AHA) obtained within 2 Months (60 days) of hiredate or job transfer date.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialedfrom the American Red Cross obtained within 2 Months (60 days) ofhire date or job transfer date.
• 2 years’ experience as aPhysician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner preferred, including PainManagement, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, or Emergency Medicine.
