The Backus Hospital EmergencyDepartment is a 42 bed unit which is responsible for treating awide variety of patients in a fast-paced, ever evolvingenvironment. As a Level III Trauma Center and Primary StrokeCenter, the unit includes some of the latest technologies,including EPIC EMR, Teleneurology, wireless medication scanning,among others. We also have a separate behavioral health area toensure the safety of our patients and staff. Our department has auniquely collaborative and supportive culture, where we promoteprofessional growth for our team of high-achieving, energetic, andadaptable medical professionals. The Assistant Nurse Manager isrecognized as the clinical expert in Patient Care Services and aleadership role model for Registered Nurses and all staff undertheir supervision. Directs the work in such a way to ensure theoverall Patient Flow. This position will assign all patient careactivities assuring that staff are qualified to care for assignedpatients, support team members, and ensure quality and serviceexcellence to our patients. They will also, facilitate challengingsituations. The ASNM will appropriately assign the workload.
Responsible for monitoring, maintaining and developing staffperformance. Qualifications Bachelor’s of Science in Nursingrequired (a qualified candidate in the process of completing theeducation requirement will be considered) Minimum 2 years EmergencyRoom RN experience required. Charge or supervisory experiencerequired. Currently certified in ACLS or completion within 3 monthof employment. PALS required within 6 months of employment. TNCCand ENPC encouraged. Current Connecticut Registered Nurse licenserequired prior to start date We take great care of careers.
