Description Family Practice Averill Park is looking for apart-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join theirteam. The schedule for this position is 3 days a week , for a totalof 28 hours per week. Responsibilities Practice medicine withphysician supervision including conducting examinations and writingprescriptions. Collaborate with physicians in managing acute andlong-term medical needs of patients. Assess patient status byobtaining health history. Order/perform laboratory diagnostic andother screening tests. Treat illnesses, give injections, suturewounds. Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care. Counselpatient/family on preventive health care. Participate in peerreviews, chart reviews, staff education, clinical guidelinedevelopment and other continuing education. Full-Time Annual Salary Range:
$100,000- $150,000.Salaries for part-time positions will be prorated accordingly. CCPsalary ranges are designed to be competitive with room forprofessional and financial growth. Physician Assistant:
Bachelor’s or equivalentdegree in physician assistant studies and successful completion ofphysician assistant training program approved by the NYS Departmentof Education or accredited by the Accreditation Review Commissionon Education for the Physician Assistant, or a program that isdetermined by the Department to be the substantial equivalent of alicensure qualifying or accredited program. Attainment of passinggrade on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examinationadministered by the National Commission on Certification ofPhysician Assistants. Current certification by National Commissionon Certification of Physician Assistants. At least one year ofexperience as a physician assistant in ambulatory health care.
Current CPR certification.
Nurse Practitioner:
Successfulcompletion of and graduation from a nurse practitioner educationprogram acceptable to NYSED. Current certification as a nursepractitioner by the American Academy of Nurse PractitionersCertification Board (AANPCB) or the American Nurses CredentialingCenter (ANCC). Successful completion of pharmacology courseworkacceptable to NYSED. Three years of professional nursing experiencein an ambulatory setting preferred. At least one year of experienceas a nurse practitioner in ambulatory health care. Current CPRcertification.
