Bangor | Advanced Practice Provider | Full Time Description Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Opportunity in Bangor, Maine Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, a not-for-profit hospital, is seeking an Emergency Department Physician Assistant to join a team of hospital employed staff consisting of 18 Emergency Medicine Physicians and 9 Physician Assistants. NL EMMC is a tertiary care referral center that is a level 2 trauma center, a primary stroke center, and has hemodialysis, a robust oncology department, palliative care, pediatric sub-specialties, medical sub-specialties, surgical sub-specialties, PICU, NICU, ICU, and CCU support. EMMC uses Cerner, Mmodal, Tigertext, and Vocera. The ideal candidate will have completed an Emergency Medicine fellowship or have 2+ years of Emergency Medicine experience. Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center’s Emergency Department serves a high-acuity patient population with an EMS volume nearly double the national average. NL EMMC Emergency Medicine provides care for over 30,000 patients annually; encompassing all age ranges. Our care areas also include an observation area, results pending area, and provider in triage area. The Physician Assistant will work closely with board certified Emergency Medicine physicians. Shifts range from 8 to 12 hours long from 7am through 11pm, 365 days per year. The responsibilities of the Physician Assistant will vary, depending on the shift; as some shifts focus on observation medicine while others focus on provider in triage. On all shifts, the Physician Assistant will have the opportunity to primary care for patients while also co-managing other patients with an Emergency Medicine physician.
