- The NursePractitioner or Physician Assistant will work in an ambulatorysetting and will be responsible for providing comprehensive care topatients with genitourinary cancer and general urologicalconditions.
- Provides direct patient care in office consultations,including assessment, workups, triage, emergency work-ins, andother patient care activities.
- Obtains and documents healthhistory, performs and documents physical exam, and orders andinterprets diagnostic tests
- Provides counseling to patientsregarding diagnosis and expected course of treatment
- Collaborateswith physician(s) to provide appropriate direct care interventionswithin scope of practice
- Collects, organizes, records, anddiscusses data as appropriate and uses sound clinical judgmentbased in best practice standards and evidence based on medicine
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals according to patient needs and conductsappropriate patient follow-up & outreach
- Ensures timely retrievalof laboratory and ancillary studies and diagnostic consultationreports
- Consults with appropriate internal and external staff tomake appropriate referrals for acute, chronic, and preventive care
- Coordinates patient care and visits with appropriate clinical andnon-clinical staff Shift – Full Time
- Monday – Friday HartfordCounty region
- Travel may be required during the onboarding periodfor training outside of the region or less than 5% of travel toother regions.

- Master’s degree in nursing ormaster’s degree in physician assistant
- National Certification inAdvanced Practice (APRN or PA)
- Current CPR certification
- Current State of CT APRN or PA license with prescriptive authorityand current DEA number
- 2 years of experience (urology preferred)
- Excellent clinical management skills and proven ability to workcollaboratively in a team environment and take lead whenappropriate
- Positive, customer-focused approach, with commitmentto providing excellent patient care
- Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills. Ability to communicate in other languages -highly desirable
- Ability to communicate technical informationclearly to patients of all ages
