09103 Physician Assistant STRHS-Lawrenceburg Job Description 06.23.2023Job SummaryUnder the supervision of a physician, provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services to patients in an assigned area/service.

Reports to:

Practice Operations ManagerFLSA:

ExemptEssential FunctionsObtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview, and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.

Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.

Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.

Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

Nonessential Functions

• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attends and participates in staff meetings, in-service, projects and committees as assigned.
• Adheres to and supports policies and procedures of the STRHS.
• Maintains a neat and professional appearance in compliance to the existing dress code.

Organizational Expectations

• Compliance to the STRH – Lawrenceburg Standards of Performance is required.
• Compliance to Dress Code Standards
• Maintains regulatory compliance in departmental operations, including, but not limited to, The Joint Commission, CMS, federal financial regulations, and Tennessee state regulations.
• Maintains competency in skills related to the operation of department and in leadership and management competencies.

Job RequirementsMinimum EducationX Bachelor’s degree RequiredRequired SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:

X Basic Life Support (BLS may obtained within 30 days of hire date) □ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) □ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) □ Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) □ Perioperative Nurse (CNOR)

Licenses:

Current and active Physician Assistant in the state of Tennessee required.
