Job Description As the Director of Imaging at Medical Center Enterprise, you will be crucial in providing quality care to our patients. Job Summary The Director, Imaging is responsible for overseeing all imaging services within the facility. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services, facilitates the implementation of best practices, and adheres to industry standards and regulations. The Director will collaborate with other departments to optimize patient care, manage the imaging department’s budget, and lead a team of imaging professionals to achieve departmental goals. Key responsibilities include developing strategic plans for imaging services, continuously improving operational efficiency, and maintaining state-of-the-art imaging technology. Essential Functions Directs and manages daily operations of all Imaging areas.
Communicates effectively. Establishes and maintains two way communication with peers, staff, physicians, leaders, and administration.
Maintains a clean, neat and safe environment for patients and staff and ensures continuity of professional care.
Demonstrates accurate knowledge and skill in radiologic programs and techniques.
Ensures and monitors department operations to meet the criteria, standards and maintains accreditation as set forth by but not limited to TJC, NRC, MQSA and other governing bodies.
Monitors the status of equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment malfunction.
Ensures compliance of all radiology equipment according to the applicable state and federal guidelines/regulations.
Ensures supplies and equipment for patient care are readily available and organized in an efficient manner.
Uses equipment safely, adhering to policy, guidelines and/or protocols set by the hospital and department.
Assumes responsibility for staffing the departments and maintains the departments’ productivity.
Demonstrates fiscal accountability for department resources and the ability to achieve outcomes within allocated resources.
Responds to patient and family requests promptly.
Initiates, plans and provides for education, maintenance and competence assessment regarding patient care and clinical policies, protocols and practices on an ongoing basis.
Effectively role models professional leadership behavior and provides direction, instruction and guidance in a resource capacity.
Demonstrates creativity, intelligence and discretion in planning, organizing and coordinating department functions.
Demonstrates proficiency at hospital wide and/or department specific computer software and technology including
RIS/EMR/PACS.
Professionally communicates and supports the hospital’s mission, vision and values, as well as departmental goals to all staff.
Collaborates with other departments to problem solve ongoing issues that impact department/organization goals and/or patient care delivery.
Gathers data and participates in the departments’ quality assurance and improvement plan to achieve a defined level of quality and appropriateness of patient care.
Maintains working knowledge of chargemaster, ensures accuracy of chargemaster and association of imaging procedures to appropriately charge for services
Performs other duties as assigned.
Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications Associate Degree Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology required
Bachelor’s Degree Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology preferred
4-6 years experience as a radiologic technologist in an acute care setting required
2-4 years of supervisory experience required
5-7 years experience as a radiologic technologist in an acute care hospital setting preferred
2-4 years director experience in a hospital imaging program preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Expertise in overseeing all imaging services within a healthcare facility.
Ability to ensure the delivery of high-quality diagnostic imaging services.
Skills in facilitating the implementation of best practices in imaging.
Knowledge of industry standards and regulations for diagnostic imaging.
Competence in collaborating with all departments, with a strong emphasis on surgery, emergency room, cardiac, and critical care departments, to optimize patient care.
Skills in managing the imaging department’s budget.
Leadership abilities to guide a team of imaging professionals.
Capability to develop strategic plans for imaging services.
Proficiency in continuously improving operational efficiency.
Knowledge of maintaining imaging technology.
Ability to maintain staff schedules to meet the demands of the department. Licenses and Certifications ARRT – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists required and
