North Alabama Medical Center is a 263 bed facility offering the community’s only open heart surgery site, a complete line of women’s and children’s services and a complete line of medical and imaging services. We are a Certified Chest Pain center and recognized as a Primary Stroke Center of Excellence by the American Heart/American Stroke Association. North Alabama Medical Center’s 24-hour emergency department serves as the primary referral center for major trauma cases in Northwest Alabama. Shoals Hospital is a 178-bed general acute care facility boasting spacious, private rooms for all patients, a 24-hour emergency department, medical and oncology services; medical/surgical inpatient units; and intensive care and short-stay surgery units. Shoals also operates the region’s only in-patient acute rehabilitation facility, the J. W. Sommer Rehabilitation Unit, and the Shoals Senior Care Center, the Shoals’ only psychiatric unit dedicated to our senior adults.

Position Summary:

The Director of Imaging Services provides strategic leadership and direction to the Diagnostic Imaging Department by developing and implementing short- and long-term goals aimed at enhancing patient care quality, fostering a positive work environment, and expanding outpatient market share. Engage with medical staff to ensure alignment with clinical objectives and proactively adopt new technologies, procedures, and processes. This role involves complex, diversified tasks requiring independent judgment and decision-making within established hospital policies. Responsible for direct supervision of multiple imaging departments (ECM, EAST, SHOALS), with final authority on personnel decisions, training initiatives, and departmental development. Handles confidential data and maintains a high level of discretion. Regularly communicates with senior management, often involving complex, non-routine matters and high-level negotiations.

Minimum Qualifications:

American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in imaging modality
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association Bachelor’s degree preferred, applicable work experience may be used in lieu of education Minimum of three (3) years of work experience, with at least one (1) year prior experience in management or leadership roles.
