Hartford Hospital is seeking a Physician Assistant orNurse Practitioner to join their endocrinology team. Duties includemanaging inpatient diabetes to complex populations spanning allhospital service lines and collaborating with a number ofinterdisciplinary nurses and physicians to coordinateinterventions, treatments, and tests. Physician Assistants and NursePractitioner Role Scope:
Under established guidelines and incollaboration and/or supervision with the practice physician(s),Advanced Practitioners perform routine physical examinations, andformulate medical, educational, and psychosocial plans to treatpatients. In consultation with the physician(s) and care teammembers, Advanced Practitioners develop plans for furtherevaluation of health needs, e.g., referral to other health teammembers or specialists. Advanced Practitioners provide appropriatetreatment for problems within the scope of the provider’s practiceas designated by protocols and identifies problems outside of theirscope of practice and refers appropriately to physician.
