POSITION SUMMARY

The Hospital Physician is a member of the Hospitalist Team who is fully engaged in providing Quality/No Harm, Customer Experience, and Stewardship by: being in Accordance with the responsibilities of the Hospitalist Program.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITES

Effective utilization of MLPs, such as for repeated rounds to assess responses to treatment, obtain test results, etc.

Transfer of important patient information during shift or service change.

Compliance with approved initiatives for drugs and diagnostic studies.

Demonstrates ongoing skills in patient communication and education.

All activities shall be in accordance with the Hospitalist Program, other directives by Health First Physicians, Inc. requirements and the Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations.

Compliance with approved quality and outcome initiatives.

Legible and prompt documentation of all charting requirements to include timed and dated orders.

Participates in ongoing Program quality and resource management activities.

Assure that patients, staff and referring physicians perceive that all of our patients are evaluated and managed by the Hospitalist physicians.

Admitting, managing and discharging medical patients transferred from other facilities, unassigned ER medical patients, patients of medical staff physicians with a signed referral agreement, patients in the Chest Pain Observation Unit, and patients referred by trauma and other surgeons for medical management.

Possess a customer-oriented mindset, including effective communication with patients, families, physicians and other members of the patient care team.

Active participation with other Hospitalists to monitor and improve the ALOS, readmissions and cost per case.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:

Any one of the following:

Doctorate’s in Medicine (MD) ORDoctorate’s in Osteopathic Medicine (DO).Completion of American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) Residency in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine in select cases.

Work Experience:
NoneLicensure:

Medical licensure in the State of Florida.

Certification:

Board Certified in Internal Medicine – Board Eligibility immediately post-residency is permitted in accordance with the Medical Staff By-Laws.

American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA ACLS) Healthcare Provider Completion Card prior to start date and maintained.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Majority of time involves sitting or standing; occasional walking, bending, and stooping.

Long periods of computer time or at workstation.

Light work that may include lifting or moving objects up to 20 pounds with or without assistance.

May be exposed to inside environments with varied temperatures, air quality, lighting and/or low to moderate noise.

Communicating with others to exchange information.

Visual acuity and hand-eye coordination to perform tasks.

Workspace may vary from open to confined, onsite, or remote.
