PAs play a crucial role in the healthcare system by providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services. They work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and private practices, collaborating closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care.   • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, such as blood work and imaging studies. Formulate differential diagnoses based on clinical findings.
    Treatment Planning
  • Develop and implement patient care plans in collaboration with supervising physicians. Prescribe medications and therapies. Perform minor medical procedures, such as suturing and wound care. Ensuring patient safety and adherence to established protocols.
    Collaboration and Communication
  • Work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Provide clear and concise communication with patients, explaining diagnoses, treatment plans, and preventive care measures. Collaborate in multidisciplinary teams. Coordinate patient care. Ensure comprehensive and integrated healthcare services.
    Education and Counseling
  • Educate patients about their medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive measures. Offer counseling on lifestyle modifications, health maintenance, and disease prevention.
    Record Keeping
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting all assessments, treatments, and communications. Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for medical recordkeeping.
    Continuing Education
  • Participate in continuing education activities. Stay current with medical literature, guidelines, and advancements in healthcare. Enhance professional knowledge and skills.
    Emergency and Critical Care
  • Assist in critical care settings, including intensive care units and emergency departments. Respond to emergency situations and provide immediate care as needed.
    Quality Improvement
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines. Enhance patient outcomes and healthcare delivery processes. GEMD1 Qualifications Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Required Education Completion of an accredited nursing/physician assistant program. Required Experience 2 plus years’ experience as a physician assistant in primary care. Required Licenses and Certifications State licensure and compliance with ongoing continuing education requirements.
Certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
Current BLS and ACLS certification. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment.
Dedication to maintaining high standards of patient care and ethical conduct.
Any combination of education, training, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties and responsibilities as described including related work experience. Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience working with a multicultural patient population delivering patient-centric programs that are high quality and cost effective, preferred.
