Job Description
Overview A professional multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice including administrative and clinical procedures under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician. Degree in medicine with plans for career in dental, medicine, advanced medical practice, pharmacy, chiropractor, physical and occupational therapy, or other allied health fields. Responsibilities Assist with patient examinations or treatments
Take patient vital signs, prepare patients for provider care
Administers medications as directed by and under the direct supervision of a licensed physician
May perform scribe functions by documenting all provider/patient interactions in the medical record under the supervision and responsibility of a licensed clinician
Observe and report patients’ signs or symptoms. Collects routine lab specimens as directed by the provider. Administers basic first aid
Participates in performance improvement projects.
Participates as an active care team member in the coordination of patient care.
Provides a standard of excellence as it relates to customer service for patients, staff members, and other customers.
Assists with test scoring
Assists with report documentation. Accurately document all entries in the medical record, either electronic or hard copy Qualifications 1 year
Medical Assistant
preferred 2 years
Clerical/Customer Service experience, ideally in a healthcare related industry
preferred Bachelors
Healthcare
preferred High School Diploma
required
Additional Details:
Degree in medicine with plans for career in dental, medicine, advanced medical practice, pharmacy, chiropractor, physical and occupational therapy, or other allied fields. Basic Life Support (BLS)
required
