REQUIREMENTS

(duties include but are not limited to)

• Provide a full range of physician services in accordance withprivileges granted by the Commanding Officer.
• Technically direct, perform, or assist in the instruction of,other health care professionals seeing patients within the scope oftheir clinical privileges or responsibilities.
• Promote preventive and health maintenance care, including annualphysicals, positive health behaviors, and self-care skills througheducation and counseling.
• Request consultation or referral with appropriate physicians,clinics, or other health resources as indicated.
• Order diagnostic tests as applicable.
• Prescribe and dispense medications as delineated by the Pharmacyand Therapeutics Committee.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be a Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy trained in thepractice of medicine and in possession of a current, unrestrictedlicense to practice medicine in any of the fifty United States, theDistrict of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or theUS Virgin Islands.

Graduates of foreign medical schools arerequired to possess both a medical license and other certificationby the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG)or 5th Pathway.

• Must be board certified by the American Board of Family Medicineor other equal certifying body.
• Must possess a current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA)Registration certificate and a National Provider Identifier(NPI).
• Must possess a minimum of one years
• experience within thelast two years working as a full-time physician, and which enableshim/her to perform the specific tasks listed for thisspecialty.
• Must have and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS)certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)certification as certified by the American Heart Association forHealthcare Providers which is the only program accepted.
