Responsibilities Supervises andcoordinates imaging activities and patient flow in theInterventional Radiology department. This includes planning andscheduling work for the assigned unit ensuring proper distributionof assignments and adequate staffing, space and facilities forsubsequent performance of duties. Uses effective leadership,judgment and problem solving skills to manage the daily operationsof the department and to direct the work of others in an efficientand cost effective manner. Provide technical assistance,instruction and consultation to students and employees. Ensures theproduction of high quality images that meet the standardsestablished by the Mayo Radiology Department. Familiar with avariety of the fields concepts, practices, and procedures. Relieson extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

Maintains a high level of expertise in the use of all equipment inthe area. This position is also responsible to recruit, select,mentor, coach, develop, discipline, and maintain a staff committedto putting the needs of the patient first. This position requiresthe ability to build and maintain a team of competentprofessionals. This will be accomplished through ongoingself-development, the promotion of continuous improvement, and byacting as a change agent. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department.

• For all Radiology modality supervisorshired on or after January 1, 2015, a Bachelor’s degree from anaccredited program will be required, in addition to 5 yearsRadiology work experience and prior demonstrated leadershipabilities.
• For all Radiology modality supervisors intent ontransferring across modalities, must meet minimum educationrequirement by January 1, 2015. Additional Qualifications
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to work independently.
• Ability to multitask and manage a variety of daily problems thatarise including but not limited to patient related issues,equipment, technical competency, workflow, and supervisory duties.
• Thorough understanding of Mayo and Radiology policies andprocedures and ability to communicate these expectations toemployees.
• Understands the fundamentals of information systemsand has working knowledge of computers. Familiar with all State andnational accreditation/regulatory requirements.
• Ability to gaincooperation through leading by example, motivating individuals, andinfluencing others.
• Supervisor should be sensitive, assertive,and possess a management style that promotes teamwork andproductive working relationships. License or Certification
• BLScertification required by start date.
• ARRT registration inRadiography (R)
• ARRT registration in Vascular InterventionalRadiology (VI)
