SummaryThe Miami VA Healthcare System in Miami, Florida, is seeking a Board Certified Hematology/Oncology Physician to provide healthcare to outpatient and inpatient veterans.

This is an open continuous announcement that remains open until filled, with applications accepted on an ongoing basis.

Eligible applicants will be referred each week until a selection is made.

QualificationsTo qualify, applicants must meet the basic and any additional requirements listed in the job announcement.

Pending completion of training or licensing requirements, applicants may be tentatively selected but cannot be hired until all requirements are met.

Current VA-employed physicians who initially met the requirements are deemed qualified.

Basic Requirements U.S.

Citizenship:

Non-citizens may be appointed only if qualified citizens are unavailable, in accordance with VA policy.

Medical Degree:

Doctor of medicine or equivalent from an approved school.

Licensure:

Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the U.S.

Residency Training:

Completion of an ACGME or AOA accredited Hematology/Oncology residency program, leading to board eligibility.

Additional Eligibility:

Residents in accredited programs may be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs), who must be fully licensed and work under supervision.

Language Proficiency:

Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Board Certification:

Hematology/Oncology required.

Physical Requirements:

Must pass a VA pre-employment physical, with specific physical capabilities detailed in the job posting. Duties Provide outpatient care for hematology/oncology patients, including consultations, chemotherapy management, and follow-up. Manage chronic medical problems and preventive care specific to hematology/oncology patients. Provide inpatient consultative care, including chemotherapy management. Participate in training medical students, residents, and fellows. Ensure efficiency and accuracy in documentation. Support research activities and participate in section activities to optimize veteran care.
