Assignments to other facilities within the Orlando VA may be required to meet the needs of the service. Travel may or may not be expected some locions. Orlando VA Healthcare System is currently seeking outstanding full-time trained physician to join our PC team as a Primary Care Provider. This incumbent responsible to provide comprehensive gender specific care to a panel of pients managed under PCMM guidelines. The incumbent is expected to be tentive to pient educion, preventive care and be able to work well in an interdisciplinary team to provide high quality primary care. Duties include but are not limited to; Manages chronic conditions, evalues and tres inter-current medical conditions. Determine medical assessment and develop trement plans according to accepted protocols. Collabores with a Pient Aligned Care Team to provide accessible, comprehensive, coordined, continuous care to an assigned panel of pients Must provide comprehensive gender specific care for female veterans as a Women’s Health PCP including age approprie cervical and breast cancer screening, menopause and contraceptive management, and initial evaluion of basic gynecological concerns. Performs a variety of disease prevention reled activities including gender and age specific screenings, mental health screenings, and health promotion activities. Screens for, evalues and tres uncompliced common mental health disorders, including depression and common addictions, with referrals made to mental health providers for further evaluion and trement as approprie. Provide Buprenorphine trement in the management of Opioid Use Disorder per DEA guidance. Primary care physicians will have responsibility for supervision of or collaborion with primary care mid-level providers. Primary care physicians will act as surroges for absent primary care providers when needed, to include review of CPRS view alerts. Primary care physicians will regular tend primary care staff meetings, departmental meetings and medical staff meetings. Timely documention (notes and encounter forms) is necessary in all areas in accordance with facility policy. All administrive work should be completed in a timely fashion. Clinical reminders should be addressed as medically approprie. Quality of care should meet professional standards. Utilizion of all Virtual Care modalities is an expection of this position. Prescribe medicion according to approved formulary, and in accordance with Federal and Ste Law.
Work Schedule:
Monday- Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm (Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/pient care needs, including weekends, holidays, and nights) Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship; non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy. Must be a citizen of the United Stes.
Educion:
Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of educion in medicine or osteophic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
Licensure & Registrion:
Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a ste, territory, or Commonwealth of the United Stes, or in the District of Columbia.
Residency Training:
Physicians must have completed an Internal Medicine or Family Residency Training Program, approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certificion. (
NOTE:
VA physicians involved in academic training programs may be required to be board certified for faculty stus).
Approved residencies are:
(1) Those approved by the Accredition Council for Gradue Medical Educion (ACGME); OR (2) Those approved by the American Osteophic Associion (AOA); OR (3) Other residencies (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified practice in the United Stes), which the local Medical Staff Executive Committee deems to have provided the applicant with approprie professional training and believes has exposed the physician to an approprie range of pient care experiences.

accredited residency training programs and who would otherwise meet the basic requirements for appointment are eligible to be appointed as “Physician Resident Providers” (PRPs). PRPs must be fully licensed physicians (i.e., not a training license) and may only be appointed on an intermittent or fee-basis. PRPs are not considered independent practitioners and will not be privileged; rher, they are to have a “scope of practice” th allows them to perform certain restricted duties under supervision. Additionally, surgery residents in gap years may also be appointed as PRPs.

Physical Requirements:
Must pass a pre-employment physical examinion as required by VA Handbook 5019. This examinion is administered by VA Occupional Health. This position requires modere lifting up to 44 lbs., carrying objects up to 15 lbs., frequent reaching above shoulder, use of fingers, hands and legs, use of cranes and motor vehicles, walking & standing up to 8 hours, bending and climbing and able to hear whisper. This position requires visual acuity, keen hearing, clear distinctive speech, and manual dexterity. Potentially long periods of continued walking, standing, stooping, sitting, bending, pulling, and pushing. Transferring pients and objects may be required. May be exposed to infected pients and contamined merials and may be required to don protective clothing in isolion situions or operive/invasive procedures. May occasionally be exposed to pients who are combive secondary to delirium, dementia, or psychiric disorders. Must be a mure, flexible, sensible individual capable of working effectively in stressful situions and able to shift priorities based on pient needs. Must complete annual Employee Health requirements, such as annual TB screening or testing, as a condition of employment. Must be physically, emotionally and mentally competent and able to perform efficiently the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodion, without hazard to yourself or others. Educion Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of educion in allophic medicine or osteophic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from an institution whose accredition was in place for the year in which the course of study was completed.

Schools of medicine accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Educion (LCME) for the year in which the degree was granted, or Schools of osteophic medicine approved by the Commission on Osteophic College Accredition of the American Osteophic Associion for the year in which the degree was granted. For foreign medical gradues not covered in (1) or (2) above, facility officials must verify with the Educional Commission for Foreign Medical Gradues (ECFMG) th the applicant has met requirements for certificion, and must obtain a copy of the ECFMG certifice, if claimed by the applicant.
